Inspired by the Jim Henson movie, Labyrinth,
which starred David Bowie and Jennifer Connely.
The worm was hand carved, cast and
painted by myself. He has carefully styled hair and a wool
felt scarf.
He
measures aprox. 3 inches long
and 3 inches high (not including
the hair). He is made from Urethane resin and
weighs 75 grams. There is a powerful
magnet embedded on his underside as well as in the
purse, allowing him to easily "snap" in place. Because
it's a powerful magnet, he'll even stick to the refrigerator.
The purse has two wires to twist around his neck under his
scarf, for extra security.
The wooden box purse has a hand painted barn owl on the back
and is varnished over several times. The inside lid has a
mirror along with a quote from the movie. "If
you look into it, it will show you your dreams..."
The bottom is lined with easy to clean vinyl and has two elastic
loops sewn on the sides for lipstick, chapstick or anything
that will fit.
The handle is glass beads and wire, reminiscent of the bracelet
Sarah wore in the film. There is also a long black cord handle.
Both handles are removable. There
are upholstery pins on the pack and on the bottom, for decoration
and to help protect the finish of the box.
